Entry Exam For American Colleges Cancelled After Security Breach In Asia

A university testing society has canceled an entrance exam on Saturday, September 9 for US universities after security breaches in Asia.

American College Testing (ACT) tests overturned tests in Hong Kong, Japan, Macau, Shanghai, Singapore and Taiwan after test materials were "compromised," The Washington Post said.

"ACT has received credible evidence that the test team for the management of its testing center has been compromised," he sent an email to the company. "Unfortunately, there is not enough time to assemble and provide secure test materials to affected test centers in time for Saturday's administration."

ACT does not add another date to your test program to compensate for the canceled test, but students can register for another session

"This latest confirmed case of widespread college admissions tests further undermines the credibility of the testing industry," said Bob Schaeffer, director of education at FairTest, which advocates for the abuse test, in an email obtained by WaPo. "It's no wonder that a bigger draw in Asia is the new movie" Bad Genius, "which highlights ways to overcome security testing systems."

Schaeffer felt that the testing industry can not maintain a fair testing system around the world for students with the advent of new technologies.

"The incident is being investigated," said Edward R. Colby, senior director of media and public relations for ACT at The Daily Caller News Foundation. "ACT does not provide any new information or comment at this time."
