OC LVN students pass state test on first try

A total of 48 students in the approved vocational nursing program Odessa College took the Texas State Board Nursing Examination (NCLEX-PN) last week and passed on their first attempt, a press release said.

The 48 students who passed the exam completed the LVN program at Odessa College in August. Of these, 23 students were Andrews, 20 Monahans, and five were still in high school taking LVN courses as dual credit university students from Odessa, said release.

"I could not be more proud of all the full-time and part-time teachers who have made this possible." His commitment to students and the Odessa College is unwavering, and I have the honor to work with this group of nursing educators from the Odessa University In the last three years, the LVN program had 139 students who took the NCLEX-PN exam and 138 of them have passed their first attempt, "said Nicole Hayes, program director at the LVN, at the launch.

The 48 students are now licensed professional nurses and are ready to work in many different health care fields. A number of these nurses also indicated that they plan to continue their education in nursing, either pursuing a bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN), or one of several other related degrees, the statement said.
